There has been some great press coverage of the launch of Dublin Bay Biosphere, which took place earlier this week. The Biosphere designation was awarded by UNESCO, the United Nations Scientific, Cultural and Educational Organisation.
Dublin Bay has been named a biosphere reserve by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) in recognition of the area’s unique ecological habitat and biological diversity.
Dublin Bay has been awarded a UNESCO biosphere designation.
Originally covering Bull Island, the designation will now cover 300 square kilometres of the sea and Dublin city and county.
