Have you ever been eye to eye with a seagull? What about seeing things from their perspective? Discover what life is really like for a Dublin gull in this creative art and writing workshop with artist Augustine O’Donoghue. Suitable for ages 7 – 12 years old, you’ll listen, learn and create, as you make a case for the gulls of the city!

Augustine will take us through the making of her sound installation for the Ports, Past and Present exhibition, on the ecological plight of herring gulls in the Dublin area. She’ll give us insight into how the gulls’ habitats have been built over or destroyed by humans and why they behave the way they do. Then it’s over to you to become the voice of the gulls, as you add to her exhibition with your unique take on their life and experiences!

Can you squawk like a seagull? What would it be like to fly above Dublin port? What food would you scavenge off humans? Answer these questions and much more in the fun creative exercises, where you’ll craft a newspaper report from the gulls’ perspective to leave in the exhibition or take home with you.
